BOSTWICK COMMUNITY CEMETERY, From Palatka go 9 1/2
miles north on Highway 17 (Jacksonville Highway), to Bostwick. In Bostwick, turn right
(east) on Palmetto Bluff Road for 7/10 mile. Turn right (south) onto Bostwick Cemetery
Road. Go 9/10 mile south and you will see the cemetery on a sandy knoll.

BERKELMANN-MATHE CEMETERY,
From Palatka, on Highway 20 West, pass the Fina Station (Adkinsson's) in Mannville and the
Town of Interlachen limit sign and make a left turn at the FIRST railroad crossing. You
will immediately be in front of the former Berkelmann residence, now owned by Mr. and Mrs.
John J. Mathe. The private cemetery is situated about 200 feet due west of the house near
the little lake. |
CARLETON CEMETERY,
approaching from the East on Highway 20, take a right turn at Johnson Crossroads to the
Baden Powell Scout Reservation. Proceed 2.6 miles. You will pass a group of houses and
trailers on the right, and about 100 yards further on you will come to a gate (broken)
across an old woods road. This gate and road are to the right. Follow this road, keeping
to the northernmost tract, approximately 300 yards in a northeasterly direction; at this
point, the road turns due North. Continue along the road in a northerly direction about
180 yards. The cemetery is located on the left.
The cemetery is in a sad state of neglect. The
remains of an outer fence enclosing approximately an acre are evident. There are four old,
badly rusted wrought iron grave enclosures still standing, and a number of veteran's
graves marked by marble gravestones.
This settlement was established early in the 1900's and continued as a viable community
until the 1920's. It was basically a retirement home for Union soldiers, and a few
veterans from the Spanish-American War.
CARTER CEMETERY, black, located at the intersection of Carter Road & Road
207A. (Dog Branch Road) could also be known as the Pattersonville Cemetery.
COUSINTOWN CEMETERY located in the north half of section 4 Township 11 South,
Range 24 East. 4.1 miles south of Interlachen off Cousintown Road.

Palatka, at Buena Vista, please obtain permission prior to visiting. DRUMMOND
CEMETERY, located in the west half of the southwest quarter of Section 20, Township 11
South, Range 23, E, near Star Lake Community in the Southeast area of Hawthorne.
EDEN CEMETERY, CRESCENT CITY, has not been surveyed yet.
ETONIAH BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY located in Bardin, take highway 100 West to
Bardin Road, turn right, go pass Bud's Grocery Store, and Etoniah Creek Bridge, cemetery
is located next to the Church.
ELIAM BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY located in the community of Melrose, on State Road
21 South of Melrose. |

EVERGREEN CEMETERY Crescent
City, has not been surveyed.
EVERGREEN CEMETERY, black, owned by Lawson Funeral Home, originally, also known
as the St. Josephs' Benevolent Society.......has not been surveyed.
FEDERAL POINT CEMETERY located in the community of Federal Point. Take State
Road 207, to 207A, turn left off of 207, then take a right at the railroad tracks, to
Federal Point Road, follow until the end of the road.
FLORAHOME CEMETERY located in Section 10; Township 9; Range 24. Go west on State
Road 100 for approximately 14 miles, directly left of 100.
| FRUITLAND CEMETERY (MT. ZION METHODIST),
located near Beulah Baptist Church road, only a few names, scattered among the woods,
mostly Appleby, and Tuckers'. It is located after climbing a fence, and searching for the
headstones. |

GEORGETOWN CEMETERY located
in the Georgetown area.
GILGAL CEMETERY, located in the Johnson area, take Highway 20 west to Johnson,
after the turn off to Johnson, proceed West on 20 until you see the sign on the right hand
side. Turn at the GILGAL sign, and follow on back to the cemetery.
GREENWOOD CEMETERY Crescent City area, unsurveyed.
GUM CREEK CEMETERY see KING-STRICKLAND-WALKER
HANCOCK CEMETERY, located in the Francis Area, between Francis Church Road
the old railroad tracks, and the airport to 100. Private cemetery, only a few markers
remain.
HAZEL-MURPHY CEMETERY, private, located in East Palatka, 207 to Clyde McCormick
Road, turn left, and it will be the first culvert on the left.
HOLLISTER CEMETERY located in Section 17 Township 10 S; Range 25 East. Go 11
miles west of Palatka, on State Road 20, turn left at church 1/4 mile, turn right, go 1
mile, turn left for 1/8 mile.

HOLLOWAY CEMETERY OF FLORAHOME, located in
Section 24, Township 9, and Range 24; Take State Road 100 from Putnam County Courthouse,
approximately 15 miles, turn right, on Coral Farms Road, go about 3 miles, turn at
George's Lake Road, for 1 mile on Tinsley Road. JOHNSON COMMUNITY CEMETERY,
located in the community of Johnson, in the Western part of Putnam County. Take highway 20
West to Johnson, approximately 18 miles from the County Courthouse. |
JONES ROAD CEMETERY, black
cemetery near Georgetown. No names or dates given, but said to be evidence of several
graves.
KEUKA CEMETERY approaching from the east, take highway 20 through the main part
of the Town of Interlachen, and after passing Interlachen (Pineview) Cemetery on the
right, continue on up the hill and take the first paved road to the left (Keuka Road).
Follow road for about one mile, cross the railroad tracks and turn right take this road
westward approximately a half mile until you come to a railroad crossing on the right.
Take the dirt road across the railroad and proceed directly ahead. The Keuka Cemetery will
be on the left about a quarter mile down the road. It is surrounded by the remains of a
concrete block fence.
KING-STRICKLAND-WALKER CEMETERY (GUM CREEK) located on privately owned land, you
should first seek permission from the owner of the surrounding land, Nienow Farms, (386)
684-4820.
Travel south on State Road 315 approximately 3.2 miles after leaving State Highway 20
in Interlachen, Take a left at the traffic light, go until you come to the entrance of the
Nienow Farms- a large gate between yellow brick pilasters on your left.
Proceed through the gate in an easterly direction; pass the trailer and follow the road
skirting the barn on the right side and proceeding to Gum Creek. The distance is
approximately .4 mile.
Cross the bridge over Gum Creek, and follow the road up slight rise to the crest which
is wooded. The cemetery is situated on the right about 40 yards from the road. It is
readily seen. It is about .2 miles from the bridge, or .6 miles from the entrance. It is
located in Section 35, Township 10; Range 24 E.
| LAKE COMO METHODIST CEMETERY, no
information given as to its location, unknown if it has been surveyed. MARY ELIZABETH
CEMETERY (HOLLISTER) located Section 8, Township 10, Range 25. It is on the west side
of State Road 20 approximately 13 miles, from Putnam County Courthouse, Turn right for 1/4
mile.
MANNVILLE CEMETERY located in Section 11; Township 10; Range 24.; Proceed
northward from highway 20 at the turn beside Atkisson's Service Station (Fina) in
Mannville 1/2 mile.
You will come to a left turn where there are three small houses to the right. Take the
left turn and travel in a westerly direction one block, more or less (300 feet), take the
turn to the right. The cemetery will lie to your left approximately 100 feet from the
turn. |

MASON-DENVER CEMETERY,
private, located south of Crescent City, basically a family cemetery of the BRADDOCK
FAMILY, although other markers have appeared here from elsewhere in the county.
MAYS-SIMPKINS, located in the Orange Mills area, this was a private cemetery
that has been desecrated, with many of the headstones removed and transported to other
parts of the county.
MEMORIAL GARDENS, owned by Masters' Funeral Home of Palatka. There are names
surveyed, but no dates.
MERRYDAY CEMETERY, private, located off of St. Johns Avenue, near the current
Wal Mart store.
NAOMI CEMETERY (HOLLISTER), From the Putnam County Courthouse, go west on State
Road 20, 14 miles, turn right for 1/2 mile. This cemetery is relatively new. The Church of
Naomi selected this location for its convenience and ownership. The graves are of mountain
people who have moved to Florida. The church adjoining this cemetery is an Old Regular
Baptist Church.
NORWALK CEMETERY Located in the Ocala National Forest, turn left off Highway 19
South on to Cemetery Road. Cemetery is located near trailers on the right side of the dirt
road, extends nearly 1/2 mile back into wooded area.
OAKHILL CEMETERY, one of the largest of the city cemetery's in Palatka. It began
in the 1900's around the turn of this century, after West View Cemetery began to run out
of burial lots.
OAKWOOD CEMETERY-Black. No driving direction were given.
OAKWOOD CEMETERY no driving directions given, located near Welaka.
OCHWILLA MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, located 5. 4 miles south of Melrose
on County Road 21, in the northwest quarter of Section 17, Township 10 South, Range 23
East.
ORANGE SPRINGS CEMETERY located near the Putnam-Marion County line, outside of
Interlachen, on 315.
PALMETTO CEMETERY, Crescent City, has not been surveyed.
PARAN BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY, one of the oldest cemeteries in the county.
Located in Grandin, Florida, in Section 7, Township 9 South, Range 24 East.

PATTERSONVILLE CEMETERY, black
cemetery located off of County Road 207A in East Palatka. No specific driving directions
given. Located in Section 48, Township 9 Range 27 East. PENIEL CEMETERY one of
the oldest in the county. The cemetery is located directly behind the old Peniel Church
building that was moved across the road from the brick church. The cemetery is fenced in
and shaded by trees, but borders Peniel Road (Now Silver Lake Terrace) on one side.
PINEVIEW CEMETERY, Interlachen, take highway 20 West to Interlachen, go
approximately 1/2 mile past the traffic light, turn right near the Catholic Church road. |
PINNER POND, located in the
Ocala National Forest, no specific driving directions given.
POMONA PARK AND SATSUMA CEMETERY, take highway 17 South to Pomona Park.
PROVIDENCE BAPTIST CEMETERY From the courthouse, go 6 miles west on Highway 100
to Bardin Road, turn right on Bardin Road and go 8.6 miles to Second Providence Road sign.
Turn left and go 4/10 mile, turn right for 2/10 mile.
RIDGEWOOD CEMETERY, black cemetery, unknown location.
SAN MATEO CEMETERY located in Section 48, Township 10 South, Range 27 East. It
is 7 miles east of Palatka on State Road 100. Turn right off 100 at James Bar
approximately 1/2 mile to the cemetery. Now closed to pioneer residents of the San Mateo
area.
SAUNDERS, Fruitland, private cemetery.
SISTER SPRING CEMETERY, black, from Palatka go northwest on 100 to Community of
Grandin. Turn left on 315 and go 4.8 miles to entrance road to Grandin Lake Estates. Turn
left into Grandin Lake Estates and go .4 miles on Hickory Drive.
RODMAN (MAY-WALKER) CEMETERY, highway 19 South to Cross Florida Barge canal
bridge, turn right on State Road 310, and go 3.3 miles west. Turn right and go through
gate , travel .8 miles on the Ocklawaha Valley Railway to the old Rodman sawmill.
UNION GROVE CEMETERY located 16 miles northwest of Palatka off Bardin Road,
Section 15., Township 8 South; Range 25 East.

WALL CEMETERY, private, located in Putnam
Hall, Please check with owners, OWEN & GEORGE PRESTON for location. WESTVIEW
CEMETERY, the oldest City Cemetery in Palatka, also has Catholic Cemetery section
known as St. Monica's. Located next to the underpass on Highway 20 West, and Bert Hodge
Post of the American Legion.
WEST TOCOI, located in Clay County, however, a number of our residents and their
ancestors are probably buried there.
YELVINGTON CEMETERY, located on the Putnam-St. Johns County Line. Private
cemetery. |
