Summary of Priority Ideas

 

Quality of Life

 

1.  Keep Federal Point a quiet, clean residential community.

 

2.  Fire protection/ambulance at Federal Point.

 

3.  Inter-local agreement in Fire/Rescue.

 

Natural Resources and Recreation

 

1.  Preserve and protect the river.

 

2.  No Georgia-Pacific pipeline.

 

3.  Require special use permits for any change of use.

 

Transportation and Infrastructure

 

1.  Better Fire & EMS Services (Inter-local agreement with Hastings & St. Johns County).

 

2.  Maintain existing roads.

 

3.  Better mosquito control.

 

Economic Development

 

1.  Need strong Ordinances such as better Zoning and Code Enforcement, and stronger mobile home

     regulations.  Maintain and enhance property values to increase tax base.

 

2.  Need a major grocery store, drug store and hardware, e.g. Publix and Home Depot.

 

3.  Improve riverfront tourism with cultural and historic theme and riverboat.
