Commentary

PLANNING DIVISION - This section is staffed by 6 full-time employees - The Department Director, Planning Manager, two Senior Planners, Planner II, and a Staff Assistant I. This section is advisory staff to the Board of County Commissioners, Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Subdivision Advisory Committee. Section responsibilities include the following:

• Providing public information and assistance
• Administration and implementation of the County Comprehensive Plan
• Correcting and amending the Future Land Use Map in the Comprehensive Plan
• Reviewing and processing rezoning, special exception, and variance cases
• Reviewing and processing subdivision plans
• Correcting subdivision problems
• Drafting and revising land development regulations
• Provide Emergency Service Function #5.
• Information and Planning during emergency situations
• Department administration
